What Is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a structural condition of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, most commonly affecting areas such as the thighs and buttocks.
It occurs when fibrous septae (connective tissue bands) pull downward on the skin while underlying fat lobules push upward, resulting in a dimpled or uneven appearance.
Cellulite is not a medical disease and is not directly related to weight or fitness level. It can occur in individuals of all body types.
How Does Cellulite Treatment Work?
Because cellulite has multiple contributing factors, treatment is tailored and may focus on one or more of the following:
